Terms of Service

Welcome to Syndicate Ledger ("the App", "we", "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at syndicateledger.com and any associated services. By using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. The Service

Syndicate Ledger is a campaign-management tool for tabletop role-playing groups. It lets you create campaigns, charter fictional corporations, assign in-game roles, and manage related entities (branches, employees, airships, etc.). All in-app content is fictional and intended for collaborative storytelling.

2. Eligibility & accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users under 18 should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and for activity on your account.
• You may sign in with Google or with a username + password of your choosing. Your displayed username is a self-chosen pseudonym — your real name is never displayed publicly.
• One person, one account. Do not impersonate another person or organisation.

3. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the App to harass, threaten, dox, or target real individuals.
• Upload content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that violates another person's rights.
• Attempt to bypass tier limits, access controls, or other security features.
• Scrape, copy, or resell App data in bulk without permission.
• Use the App for real-world financial accounting — the in-app "ledger" is a fictional play tool.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Severe violations may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of campaigns, corporations, and other content you create. By using the App, you grant us a limited licence to store, display, and process that content as needed to operate the service for you and the campaign members you invite.

You are responsible for what you upload. Don't upload anything you don't have rights to share.

5. Subscriptions (Patreon)

• Paid tiers are administered through Patreon. By linking your Patreon account, you authorise us to read your patron status and entitled tier from Patreon's API.
• Tier benefits (campaign and corporation limits, advanced features) take effect after your patron status is verified.
• Billing, refunds, and tier changes are handled by Patreon and governed by Patreon's own terms.
• If your patron status changes (cancellation, payment decline, tier downgrade), your access level adjusts accordingly. Existing campaigns and corporations remain accessible read-only beyond your new limits.
• Password resets are always free and never require a subscription.

6. Service availability

We aim to keep the App online and working. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change, improve, or be removed. We'll communicate major changes when reasonably possible.

7. Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, content, or revenue arising from your use of the App.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. On account deletion we will remove your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is legally required.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
